Our History

Great Change for All was founded in 2017 by a student who had to struggle to pay for his secondary education under very difficult conditions and missed the opportunity to get direct university entry. After completing secondary education, it was an up-hill task to secure sponsorship to get university education despite passing his examinations. The Organization is led by highly qualified and experienced team of professionals from Academia, Research and Legal practitioners, networked with both local and internationally recognized institutions. Great Change for All is one of the nation’s leading Non-Governmental Organizations, committed to helping families amongst the most vulnerable communities improve their lives and achieve lasting victories over poverty, hunger and social injustice. GC4A quickly became a tested and trusted vehicle for the compassion and generosity of hundreds of thousands through its key role in finding sustainable peace and community resilience building and strengthening.

Great Change for All members come from humble backgrounds and have sad testimonies of numerous bright, gifted, and talented children missing opportunities for education. Such children loose hope in life because they miss opportunities to exploit their inherent talents to the fullest. As a result, a whole generation is wasted!

GC4A believe it is inhuman and un-acceptable that despite abundant resources endowed to all by the Almighty God, people continue to live under hopeless conditions. A child going without food and other basic needs is a real daily occurrence in rural areas and slums in Africa! Women bear the burden of caring for children under very unpredictable situations. Families are not sure of putting a meal on the table and hunger is a common phenomenon. All these happen despite very good elaborate plans on paper by governments every budgetary year! As a result, the vicious cycle of poverty and ill-health has proven difficult to break! Why? Lack of political wills, poor leadership, corruption, inefficient systems, and poor stewardship. Resources are often directed to non-priority issues or out rightly misused. It is against this backdrop that the Great Change for All realized it was time to make a difference in the lives of the disadvantaged in the society.

Operational Strategies

GC4A takes a comprehensive approach to humanitarian response: first, by working with communities and local authorities to prepare for and mitigate the impact of disasters; then, by empowering local groups (women groups) to provide immediate assistance when an emergency hits; and finally, by working with its local staff in the various regions who understand the geographical area, language and have the expertise to empower the groups, communities (The Community grass root workers) and help pass the emergency case management skills to the communities. GC4A’s humanitarian response is part of a long-term commitment. We place great importance on building local capacity and long-term resilience to external shocks and capacity building to be able to handle the crisis. GC4A is committed to meeting international standards of quality and accountability (Sphere standards, IASC guidelines) when we respond to emergencies, and making sure communities have a say in planning, implementing and monitoring and evaluating our response. We combine innovative, community-based programming with national advocacy efforts to influence change at all levels.
